Match report

Final Score: Bracknell Bees 3-4 Slough Jets

Joe Greener's goal put an end to an impressive Bees comeback to give the Slough Jets a close-fought win at The Hive.

Bracknell clawed back a two-goal defecit, but Greener's strike mid-way through the third period gave the visitors the two points.

The Bees made the brighter start, and despite taking to the ice without the influential Lukas Smital - took an early lead. Rob Lamey found the net with under two minutes of action played.

With the teams playing four-on-four hockey, Ricky Skene received a penalty for tripping, handing the Jets a power play opportunity. The away side took full advantage as Mindaugas Kieras made no mistake after some patient build up.

Both sides had good chances to take the lead before the break, and it was the away side who started the second period with the lead. Some good work from Mark Galazzi and Andrew Melachrino allowed Dan Davies to find a way past Tom Annetts.

The Jets added to their lead after the break as Galazzi grabbed a goal after being set up by former Bees captain Terry Miles. Neither side could add to their tally during the remainder of the second period as both netminders looked comfortable.

The Bees didn't give up and turned up the tempo at the start of the final period. Brad Watchorn gave the home side a lifeline early in the period, before Matt Foord let rip to tie up the game with over eleven minutes left to play.

With Bracknell turning their attention to winning the game, the Jets took them by surprise and instantly hit back to re-take the lead. Joe Greener beat Annetts after some determined play from Ryan Watt and Doug Sheppard.

The Bees ran out of time to find another tying goal as the Jets took the two points back to Slough. Bracknell heavily outshot their opponents but an impressive performance from Gregg Rockman between the pipes for Slough helped them to two points.
